Ordinary Box alarm

Tower 1

Engine Co. 4's Lt. French has finaly seen the light

Every box alarm is pretty much the same. Box comes in, companies go out, and they usually expect to be cancelled soon thereafter because of smoke from cooking or any other mundane reason. This time it could have been a whole lot worst. A box alarm came in from a large elderly retirement facility. Engine four's crew arrived first and found the alarm panel reading "third floor detector". When they got to the third floor they found a hallway filled with smoke and fire in an apartment "grease fire". A quick knock down with a dry chem and a lot of smoke removal and the incident was under control. Five to ten more minutes of uninterupted burning and we would have had a different situation. Koodo's to Battalion 3 Broadway companies.

I only had time to snap a few pictures from the outside but I hope to have some interior pictures in a few days.

A "thank you" goes out to Brother M. Johnson for taking a few shots with my camera.
